The standard text book definition of geo-politics is " concerned nations fight for resources in international arena". Here the definition does not say what is meant by resources. Resources are both human and natural. so the process of study of control of international resources both human and natural for a nation state survival is called the theory and practice of geo-politics.
This is nothing but the definition of colonialism or mercantile based colonialism. The question of human resources brings the religion in to play as homogeneity of religion or culture or language is essential to control the populations. So the historical evolution of religion its manifestations and the propagation and how that religion as opium and cocaine became the basis of every thing we see and experience which masquerades as economic theories and ideologies. The same religion culture and language that becomes the basis of geo-political players country's unity becomes tool of division in the target country that is filled with human and natural resources.
The second aspect of natural resources from the time of colonial empires till the current liberalization in the name of private development is nothing but loot of resources either by out right occupation or by a process of academic theoretical benign developmental ideologies coupled with the manipulation of selective religious cultural prides and creation of neo zamindari systems of industrial tycoons to perpetuate the same colonial rule.
When we study geo-politics we have to understand the historical basis of this religious fight that started at least 2000 years ago with the advent of multiple colors of christianity and progressed through the evolution of many shades of islam which in 19th century when no longer were able to function on the basis of religion metamorphosed as economic ideologies of either capitalim or communism and when that no longer worked took the new avatar of Liberalization and privatization and monopolar and multi polar worlds.
But all these they did for last 400 years earnestly to control international resources specifically Indian and Chinese resources be it human or natural. It is the indian human resource or her ability to supply human resources endlessly that was the cause of the winning of the first and second world wars.
Unfortunately as part of control of human resources the British did an excellent job of keeping all brilliant minds in India from even acknowledging this subject of geo-politics leave alone becoming experts. British feared correctly that once Indians start study this India becomes a super power.
What and how to do ?
First the institute should have a through research base to collect preserve all documents texts world wide since last 400 years that were written about generous Indian resource sharing. And the entire evolution of international treatise and wars that were fought for the above generous sharing of indian resources. This provides a historical back drop and practical case studies of what went for lastt 400 years. This involves set up of country wise region wise divisions that will toil to collect this information and preserve and bring to the Indian audience.
Next, a timely practical course structure (either private or in collaboration with NGOS or administrative training institutes) has to be prepared and should be made part of curriculum of at lease Administrative services or politicians (if their infinite all pervading wisdom allows them to heed) so that at least they in the next 10 years will be able to see the practcal utility of GP in the functioning of the nation and making policy forward.
There are many think tanks in India for study of go-politics. But most of them are accommodation centers for semi retired young individual to become residents of the particular city where these are set up. We want to create some thing different that can change the course and direction of the nation in next 10 years from (IN)dependence that we have to Purna Swaraj that was the goal of Bose and others.
